2025-2026 Social Media/Photo Internship Application (NOW OPEN)
The 49ers Athletic Marketing Department is looking for energetic, determined, detail-oriented and
responsible students interested in the Social Media/Photo Internship. The internship position
gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of marketing, advertising, social
media and event planning while helping to uphold the 49ers brand across social media platforms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor Instagram account for their specific sport account
- Create content for specific sport social media account
- Shoot, edit, and organize photos and videos for social media content
- Create a strategic plan for their sport social media content with help from Comms and head of Social
- Engage with fans in direct messages and comments to keep them informed and connected
- Compile and analyze social media statistics and report to marketing/ comms department
GAME DAYS
- Film, edit, and post Instagram stories on sport account
- Create content from photos and videos provided by photographers and videographers
- Engage with fans via comments, messages, etc. to answer questions
- Promote events/games
- Improve the overall brand of the team, school, and student-athletes by creating quality content
- Assist with all other in-game social media content
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- General knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms
- Ability to manage time commitment and dedicate all required office hours
- Understand the importance of strong customer service and fan experience
- Must be able to work required nights, weekends, academic and holiday breaks
- Interest in and general knowledge of 49ers Athletics brand
- Ideal candidates will have a presence on campus and in the community
- Attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Adobe Programs is a plus
